Maggie was taken aback for a moment. Before she could say anything, he had already hung
- up.
After regaining her composure, she returned to the meeting room and told Johnny that she
had something to take care of and needed to leave.
She then added, “Please organize the meeting progress and any issues that arose, and send
them to me. I’ll handle them when I find the time.”
This way, she wouldn’t slow down everyone else’s progress.
Johnny pushed her gently. “Got it. Go on, hurry.”
Half an hour later, Maggie drove back to the villa.
Franklin’s usual car was parked outside.
He should have already come back.
She thought to herself, and sure enough, when she walked through the door, she saw
Franklin.
He was sitting on the sofa with Grandma Wilson and Isabella, chatting.
He was the first to notice her return.
However, he didn’t say anything.
Grandma Wilson, seeing her, stood up with a smile, “Mag, you’re back?”

Grandma Wilson patted her hand gently. “You must be hungry. The meal is almost ready,

“Okay.”
This time, Franklin didn’t need Grandma Wilson to prompt him. He immediately sat down next to Maggie.
Grandma Wilson served food onto her plate and sighed, “Look at you, you’ve lost weight again. How come you never take care of yourself properly?”
She said this while glaring at her grandson.
He remained unaffected, but without needing Grandma Wilson to say anything, he automatically served some food onto Maggie’s plate.
Maggie said, “Thank you.”
Grandma Wilson continued, saying that she had brought a lot of supplements with her and would have someone sort them out after dinner for both her and Franklin to supplement
their health.
Maggie didn’t want to refuse, so she nodded repeatedly.
Grandma Wilson had once ventured to Y City when she was young.
She was an expert at making nourishing soups, and after dinner, she insisted on personally supervising the preparation of supplements for both her and Franklin. Maggie had wanted
to help, but Grandma Wilson pushed her out of the kitchen.
Maggie had no choice but to sit back on the sofa.
Isabella and Franklin were there as well.

Maggie hurriedly set her phone down and said, “Grandma.”
Grandma Wilson glanced at the three of them, sighed, and said, “You all…”
She seemed at a loss for words. She walked over and sat next to Maggie, asking, “What are
you busy with?”
“Just some work at the company…” Maggie replied.
Grandma Wilson snorted and pointed at Franklin, “If you’re busy, you can talk to him.
What’s he doing here, just sitting around?”
Maggie paused.
She didn’t bring up the fact that she had already resigned from Wilson Group.
She looked at Franklin.
Maggie froze for a moment, her gaze meeting Franklin’s. He appeared to be in a good mood,
and upon hearing Grandma Wilson’s comment, he didn’t bring up the fact that she had
resigned.
It seemed he was concerned that if he mentioned it, Grandma Wilson might insist she
return to Wilson Group.
Soon, Grandma Wilson shifted the topic, asking them to accompany her for a walk in the
garden.
After their stroll, Grandma Wilson, clearly tired, told them, “I’m going to take a shower and
rest for a bit. The soup will be ready later; make sure to drink it.”
Maggie was about to agree, but then realized Grandma Wilson was implying she would stay
here for the night. She looked toward Franklin.

Franklin, as if knowing what she was thinking, spoke once Grandma Wilson had walked a little farther, “Grandma said she’ll be staying for a while.”
“What?” Maggie froze in place.
Franklin didn’t elaborate. “I’m going to the study.”
Without waiting for her to respond, he headed upstairs.
Isabella came running down from upstairs, grabbing her hand and pulling her up to play
with her Rubik’s Cube. Maggie spent over an hour with her, and then Aunt Sara came in with a bowl of soup.
“Madam, the soup is ready.”
“Thank you,” Maggie said as she accepted the bowl.
“Mrs. Wilson said to drink it while it’s hot.”
“I’ll drink it now.”
Aunt Sara left to deliver the other bowl of soup to Franklin.
Maggie drank the soup while urging Isabella to go take a bath.
Since Grandma Wilson was staying, she naturally couldn’t sleep in Isabella’s room.
After Isabella finished her bath, Maggie returned to the master bedroom.
Franklin was absent, likely still in the study.
Maggie still hadn’t finished handling some content Johnny had sent earlier, so she hurriedly
responded to a few messages but encountered some challenges. While thinking about how
to deal with the difficulties, she went into the bathroom.
When she finished her shower and changed into her sleepwear, she realized she had forgotten to bring her sleep pants.

The clothes she had taken off earlier had gotten a little wet while she washed her face.
She paused, thinking that Franklin probably wasn’t back yet.
After a moment’s hesitation, she opened the bathroom door and stepped outside.

Maggie felt a rush of embarrassment but quickly regained her composure.
After all, they were still married, and even though things had been awkward between them recently, they had shared a bed plenty of times in the past.
She had never actively tried to seduce him, despite secretly hoping he would eventually fall
in love with her.
She had always assumed it would be futile, so she had never acted on those thoughts.
Her usual sleepwear was modest–a loose, two–piece set with a simple collar. Today, she was wearing a similar style, a loose shirt that was long enough to cover her midriff.
Even without the pants, she didn’t think it would look too revealing.
She had no intention of provoking him, but to avoid any misunderstandings, she quickly said, “I just forgot to grab my pants…”
Although she felt that her top wasn’t inappropriate, she forgot that her body–well–toned and graceful–could make even the most modest clothing look enticing.
The front–to–back hemline of the top highlighted her long, flawless legs, and the curves of her body became apparent, especially around the hips.
Moreover, her freshly washed skin was glowing and smooth, giving off an almost innocent, pure vibe.
The combination of her soft, fresh look and the loose top gave the impression of wearing a boyfriend’s shirt, which was more seductive than any sexy nightwear.
