Chapter 9
His eyes were full of hurt, but I pretended not to see.
At this moment, Charlotte played her trick again. She walked to Zachary and grabbed his hand, anxiously saying, “Zachary, my aunt messaged me Edward had a high fever. It’s serious. Let’s hurry back.”
After speaking, she grabbed Zachary and headed toward the door.
Zachary stared at me with his eyes. Then he waved his hand and shouted, “Go find a doctor! I’m not
a doctor. What’s the use of take me with you?”
Charlotte fell onto the ground and glared at me fiercely as if she wished she could tear me apart
with her eyes.
I took a step back and said distantly, “Mr. Murphy, I’m here to pick up something. Then I’ll leave.”
I walked past him, picked up the vase from the shelf, and walked out, not wanting to stay here for
one more second.
But when I passed by Charlotte, she suddenly extended one foot on the ground. Before I could react, I was tripped and fell.
Zachary reacted quickly and pulled me up as I was about to fall to the ground.
But the vase fell onto the ground and shattered into pieces.
I looked at the fragments on the ground with tears in my eyes.
This was a gift from my grandfather to my grandmother, and my grandmother cherished it for a lifetime, but now it was broken because of me.
Zachary pulled Charlotte up from the ground and ruthlessly slapped her face twice.
Charlotte cried out in pain and broke free from Zachary’s control. She covered her face and shouted, “Zachary, she doesn’t want you anymore. I am the mother of your child. Are you going to abandon your own son?”
She ran out after saying that.
I asked Sam for a bag and picked up the vase fragments one by one.
My hand was cut and bleeding, Zachary quickly grabbed my hand and said, “Stella, your hand is bleeding. Come here. Let me help you bandage it.”
I forcefully shook off his hand, and tears uncontrollably fell down. “Zachary, can’t you let me go?”

Ignoring the blood on my hand, I continued to pick up the fragments and tidy up the ground. After that, I left.
He grabbed my hand to stop me. I turned around and said, “Get lost!”
Zachary released his grip in a daze. As I walked a distance away, he shouted from behind.
“Stella, I didn’t sign the divorce agreement. I know I was wrong, Stella, please give me another
chance.”
