I sensed him come into the room. And the first thing to hit me was his scent mixed with his cologne. Everything screamed pleasure inside my head.
The first time I’d been intimate with Alpha prince Cain, he had forced himself on me and there was nothing about it that I enjoyed. But now I think about that day and the sheer thought of his body against mine caused a strange arousal between my legs.
And I found myself beautifying that awful moment where he stole my virginity and got me pregnant too.
Tonight, as I sensed his presence inside the room amongst the vast gathering, I caught a glimpse of him through the corner of my eyes as Emily Houston tried to engross me with her talk about estate houses. I wasn’t interested. But to be able to thrive in the world of rich and famous people, you needed to pretend to love what they love.
“So I walk into this house yeah? And it’s a fucking penthouse built in the middle of an ocean, a forest. Could be savannah, who cares! But all I’m saying is, this house is like a fucking bird nest, sitting on top of all those pillars. And on this stormy evening, I stepped off the elevator and entered the living floor of this building and guess what Nelt?”
I waited for her to say it but she was seemingly taking her dear time.
“Tr.an.qui.lity.” she said with a considerable number of full stops in between each letter. All for emphasis. Her hands pointing out to all directions wasn’t enough already.
“Waw….” I said uninterestedly, chuckling slowly, the grin on my lips about to drop any time from now.
“I walked over to the window that overlooked a very rocky scenery. Large banana trees moving with the wind’s momentum, mountains peaking over the horizon, the sound of rain hitting the roof and leading the wind and the sound of rain patting on the window panes. It is the most beautiful feeling ever trust me, Gen. But do you know what the saddest part of this whole thing was?”
“Do tell.” I said quickly.
“The owner died?” Jericho Bush, her boyfriend who stood awkwardly next to her chimes in.
“No, silly!” Emily Houston said as she slaps his forearm playfully, before saying to me “the owner of the house was selling that beautiful house after he went bankrupt from a very painful divorce with the daughter of a very important public figure and now, he has nothing much to hold on to so he called me in to take on the sale of the house for him.”
“Oh my goodness, that is so sad.” I feign hurt, like I was completely immersed in her story. But this entire time, my mind was busy going over to Cain whom I assumed stood away, doing his business. I was tempted to look around for him a few times, but Emily wouldn’t tear her gaze from mine for even one second!
“Yeah,” Emily said pitifully “anyway, the house is still up for sale, if you need it. It’s the kind of house we need to go to sometimes to escape from all this….” She dramatically throws her hands around the place with a loud chuckle and I quickly joined in.
“You look absolutely ravishing in that dress, Genevieve.” I heard a very familiar voice say from beside me and I stopped to look.
I’m met with the very handsome face of none other but Nathan Moretti. As always, he is very well dressed in a very stylish black suits. Nathan is a very stylish man who owns his own men clothing brand, so this was his type of event to be at.
“Nathan! How are you?” I said with a big grin.
Nathan and I met last year at my office after he came proposing that I partnered with him in bringing his new business

idea to life. Apparently, he was starting a in Japan and wanted me to start the journey with him. Of course I declined and if I didn’t have all that I have today, I would have definitely regretted saying no to him.
But he has kept in touch after that and didn’t hold any grudge. Of course we don’t see Everytime but he did make sure to call once in a while after then.
Nathan is ever smiling, just as he is now as he leaned forward to give me a chaste kiss on my cheek. I instantly grew uncomfortable. Nathan is a very touchy person. He didn’t care about the kind of relationship you had, he was just too generally touchy.
I tried not to make it about me alone.
“I’m good Genevieve,” he replies “I don’t need to ask, you’re doing wonderful.”
As much as I disliked Nathan’s overly touchy nature, I was glad he was here because with his presence, I wouldn’t have to endure Emily’s endless talks about houses anymore.
“Um…. Actually I was looking for you, Genevieve,” Nathan continued “I… Have something important to discuss with you before you get on that stage.”
“Oh…” I mouthed.
“Um if you’ll excuse us…” Nathan said to Emily and her boyfriend, his hand going to my bare back as he lead me away from the group.
I was relieved.
As Nathan lead me away, a threw a quick glance at Cain. He has his attention elsewhere now, busy talking with Mr Blogwood.
I didn’t know why I felt annoyed.
Nathan leads us towards the door that lead into a narrow hallway, opening into a wide room. The room seems spotless but there wasn’t a single decor or furniture in her except for a single table situated below the tall window.
“Why are we here, Nathan?” I ask him as I admired the room’s painting. It was a very unique shade of grey.
I sensed his movement stop, causing me to turn quickly and spotted him leaning against the wall right beside the door His eyes are watching me predatorialy, his lips pulled up into a flirtatious smile.
“Do you
know what last month is?” He asks. I waited for him to say

“Last month made it one year since you turned down my life changing offer to become a part of my company.” He adds and I looked away.
“I mean, look at you, it turned out to be the best decision you probably ever made, right!” He says, his lips twisting into a grin.
“Nathan…” I called softly.
“No it’s alright,” he said as he closed the distance between us. “I was just reminiscing that’s all. I’m glad that I saw you here tonight, Genevieve.”
When I felt his breath fanning my nose, I looked up to find his face looking over mine, his tall wide body towering over mine intimidatingly.
I tried to move back but my body hit the wall. I was completely caged in between his body and the wall.

“Have dinner with me, his voice is soft and gentle “Saturday night. I have a villa in Mexico. It has very beautiful view when you wake up in the morning.”
Wait, what? Was he inviting me on a vacation? With him? What are we? A couple?
I remain silent as I watched his seemingly vulnerable eyes.
“What do you say, beautiful?” He pressed softly.
I was confused. Nathan has never approached me with any form of sexual interest before. Although we have only been together for very few countable times, I think that would be enough to know if he had some hidden feelings for me?
Or he was just a naturally flirtatious man.
Although during the few times we spent together in the same space, I have caught him staring at me. But I didn’t think that meant anything.
“Um… I’m sorry Nathan but I have work to do, I can’t do any of that now.” I said as I gently nudged him aside and stepped away.
“Just dinner then. This Saturday. Your pick.” He said as I moved further away from him.
I stared at him, my mind wondering for a minute. Nathan Moretti was a beautiful man. Even though he was found of changing his hair color every once in a time like some Korean model, he was a very much handsome and very masculine man. And he had a charming smile.
Maybe going to this dinner with him wouldn’t be so bad.
Cain….
The sound of his name rang in my head. Why was I thinking about Cain right now when there’s another man in front of me, asking me on a date?
“I’ll…. Think about it….” I muttered, just in time to hear Megan’s crashing footsteps at the door.
“Um…. Sorry to interrupt but we really need you back at the dressing room ma’am!” She said breathlessly.
I turned to see the fear in her eyes slowly fading. She seemed to have been looking for me, probably worried that her model was nowhere to be found.
Giving her a small smile, I turned back to see Nathan. He gives me a slight nod before I stepped out of the room with Megan, my heart fluttering inside my chest.
