Chapter 41
BACK IN THE TITAN WOLF CITY,
Anisa’s P. O. V
I stood over the large window that overlooked the city, my eyes forcing to stay open as boredom washed over me.
“One hundred and twelve….. I counted quietly so the maids on the background, laying down my clothes on my bed doesn’t hear.
Today made it one hundred and twelve days since Alpha Cain left the pack in search of what he wouldn’t tell me about. He said he was going to be back, but I knew he was just telling me what I wanted to hear.
Cain has never looked at me the way he used to ever since that girl interfered in our wedding five years ago.
Touching me became a duty he needed to fulfill until he finally…… stopped. And it had been two years since he laid beside me.
Cain never loved me. Maybe he loved me as a friend. And all that love seemed to disappear after our parents arranged for us to get married.
Born of a native blood, I was the great grand daughter of a dutch. And my grandmother had been married to an Irish king in the north, so I was born of royal blood.
Cain’s father had been more than happy finding out about my origin. While he saw it as a strategy to strengthen the royalty root of his family, I saw it as an opportunity to be with the only man I’d ever truly admired and loved since I was younger. Since setting foot in this pack.
While for Cain? huh. It was merely something he wanted to get over with. Because he had bigger dreams that didn’t have to do with a
woman.
I’ve spent enough amount of years close to Cain to know his driving force.
Cain became the chief Knight since he was nineteen years old. He was the strongest among his peers and easily became the commander of not only his squad but also his father’s army. He was a sensitive man who was always steps ahead of everyone else. He was the big bad wolf who had been blessed with the Titan abilities, something that was very rare since the last Titan age, a history that is not talked about much due to some very nasty occurrence that had taken place even before Cain and I were born.
Cain was fierce and strong. He was fearless and a skilled fighter. And above all of that, he was charming and he had the ability to steal your heart just by merely smiling at you or stealing a glance at you. That was all I needed to fall in love with him.
Girls loved him in the pack. He was very likeable wherever he went.
I remember once during the mating season, all the she wolves heating at that moment wanted to get laid with him at the event. I‘ remembered feeling so angry and jealous. Not because all the girls threw themselves at him. But because he didn’t care about any of them. Didn’t even see them. Other men would swim in this great opportunity of being wanted by many and pride themselves about it.
But Cain didn’t want any of this. He wasn’t interested in women. He was more interested in the businessess surrounding the welfare of the pack. He loved to go off and fight. He loved to take care of his subjects.
curtly.
Cain wasn’t just a prince with the title. He was the prince of Wars and darkness and the Alpha of the Titans.
My lips slowly draws up in a sad smile.
“Your grace.” My smile vanish immediately I heard my maid call me from behind and I turned around to see Stella, her head held down
“Yes?” I respnd as I fully turned around to face her now.
“The king is ready to see you now.” She says.
Ex king. I refrain from correcting her before walking out of the room, two of my maids following suit.
I follow the corners of the castle until I was bursting out in front of the King’s chambers. The guards guarding his doors pushed the doors open as I approached.
Once inside the room, I walked over to the bed where he was laid, a physician and a nurse attending to him.
The king’s illness has gotten worse over the week and I was scared he will pass away before Cain even made it back.
Cain was a big part of his father’s life. I didn’t know what I would tell him if he died before he even made it back to see him.
King Malaki watches me as I walked over to him, his eyes tired and barely holding on to me. The hair on his head and chin has started to grey, more than the last time I’d seen him. And that was four days ago.

Chapter 41.
I could see his lips gently shivering.
I stop next to him. “Your grace.” I greet him. He moves his hand closer to hold mine.
“Anisa….” He calls me weakly, his voice trembling, just as his hands trembled over mine “is my son back?”
I wished I could tell him that he was back but I couldn’t.
Putting a hand over his and patting gently, I replied “he will be here soon.
“I need to talk to him…” He whispers.
I nodded, not knowing what else
to say to him.
Looking at the physician who had stopped what he was doing and stepped aside to give us room to talk, I said “how is his condition doctor?” not getting any better, your grace. It seems all the medications I’m giving him isn’t working.
He shakes his head vehemently and replies “he’s not
His body is rejecting treatment.”
I nod, looking back at him as he pulled his hand from mine.
Looking back at the physician and curtly giving him a nod to continue with his work, I asked out of the room.
As I stepped out, I saw Stella walking up with a strey in her hand. She was bringing in the king’s meal. She stops to bow slightly to me before making her way past me and I gave her a nod back before walking away.
In less than two weeks, Stella wouldn’t need to keep feeding him what I instructed her to. Because he would be dead by then.
Everything was working as planned. Cain’s presence now would only hinder my plans. And I needed to prevent that from happening. As I walked into my room and stood over the window again, I heard my door open and I knew who had walked in.
“Well?” I called.
I felt the hesitance in his silence, causing me to turn around to face the man I’d sent out two days ago to do my job for me.
“She survived,” he replies fearfully “and he did too. The girl fought by him.”
My eye twitched with anger and pure disappointment. Turning around to face the window, I realized it was time for me to handle this myself.
“I guess it’s time I paid London a visit then,” I said
as I watched the city “prepare.”
