Chapter 47
Cain’s POV.
Anisa’s voice sends a shiver running down my spine for reasons unknown to myself. Maybe it’s a shock knowing that I wasn’t expecting to ever see her here in London. Or because of the disgust in her voice as she spoke.
1 turn around to find her standing at the exit, a small smile on her lips. Or is that a smirk?
I can’t get my eyes past the red evening dress adorning her body, and the way her blond hair falls down her back in more waves than I’ve seen since the past five years.
Tonight she has dark eyeliners around her sloe eyes, her green iris taking up the shades of the dark night.
I noticed how more than half of her breasts are sprewing out of the deep v slot along the chest of her dress, her left thigh in full display from the long slit by the side of her legs.
And I’m actually wondering if she heard everything that I’d been discussing with Effie. Had she perhaps stopped by the door and eavesdropped on our conversation? That didn’t matter right now. What mattered most was what she’s doing here. And how did she find me? Maybe she picked up my scent but how come I haven’t picked hers? How did I not pick up her scent before she walked through that door?
Have ……. lost that ability too?
“Anisa!” I call as I fully turn around to face her, my fist clenching as anger started to stretch throughout my body.
I was mostly upset because I’d never had the chance to tell Effie about her. I should have discussed my current relationship with Anisa. I should have informed her that I was merely married to Anisa, I didn’t love her. I never did. I was merely honoring my father’s wishes and protecting my pack by doing what needed to be done.
“What are you doing here?” I hiss.
I hear Effie gasp gently behind me and I wonder what was actually going through her mind at the moment. Was she angry? Is she going to hate me now? Just the moment she decided to let the guard she has been building around her heart for the past five years down and open up to me about everything, Anisa comes into the scene. This would definitely make her to question her decisions.
Anisa chuckles instead at my question, and I don’t miss how her eyes flick behind me to Effie quickly.
“Cain, surely that’s not your way of telling me how much you’ve missed me” she says with a glint in her eyes as she starts moving closer.
One moment I thought she is still feets away from me, but I was wrong. Because in the next few seconds, she is wrapping herself around me, her face pushing into mine as she kisses me deeply….. On the lips.
How did I let this happen?
Before I could push her off me, she is pulling herself away from me, her eyes falling on Effie as if she was just noticing her.
“Oh wait, I think we met right?” She blurts.
What? They’ve met? Effie must have not recognized her then otherwise she would have brought it up earlier. Maybe. If she cared enough.
“What are you doing here, Anisa?” I ask her through gritted teeth again.
She shifts her gaze from Effie and back to me. “You’ve been gone for more days than I can count. And I was missing you terribly, so I thought I’d come see you.”
I knew why she was sounding like that. She knew exactly who Effie was. She knew she was my rightful mate and now she is saying all of that to provoke her.
“I think I should leave now.” Effie says, attempting to flee the scene but I hold her back. I knew she was having a rush of emotions right now, especially because everything that has just happened questioned her last decision about me. About us.

“Wait…” I mutter softly.
“Yes I did see you earlier,” Anisa continues “I knew your name wasn’t Genevieve. I knew you were Effie even before I stepped into that elevator.”
There’s fire in her eyes and I can only imagine the bad ways this could turn out. Maybe leaving with Effie would be the best decision right now.
“Genevieve. The beautiful, stunning influencial woman in the entire London,” Anisa continues mockingly “and mother of an adorable boy…
I feel Effie’s body tense under my touch and I knew that feeling very well.
“And….,” Anisa continues “I also found something interesting earlier today…

now.
Anisa watched Effie like a predator watching it’s weak pray, fire burning in her eyes.
“That’s enough!” I cut her off, taking Effie’s hand into mine “let’s go.”
“You never told me you had a son with this thing, Cain.” Anisa’s voices forces me into a stop just before we reach the door.
Effie turns around quickly, her anger surfacing now. I knew how protective she could be of Ace. But how did she know about him?
“You will stay away from my son!” Effie sneers at her.
“You would speak properly to your Queen if you wish to see him again.” Anisa replies, her lips twisted menacingly as her eyes move over to me
I could hear Effie’s heartbeat pounding in my cars as fear overtook her.
“Where is my son?!” Effie sneers at her, her irritation taking a notch.
“Oh he just went on a little adventure,” Anisa replies slowly “…. to the supernatural world.”
What?
The next thing I hear is Effie’s scream and a glowing light as she launched for him, a loud growl escaping from her lips as her wolf teeth protruded from her mouth and her eyes glow with anger.
And then there’s Anisa, laughing menacingly,
My eyes narrow on Anisa as soon as I saw her fingers working secretly behind her, as she summoned the red lightening, her fingers sparkling gently, her lips twisted in a menacing smirk.
No…
