Chapter 7: He Thought She Was Just Playing?
As Ethan Hayes got closer, he noticed that the woman’s beautiful wavy curly hair had been straightened, and the color he liked the most had been dyed back to pare black.
She wasn’t wearing makeup, nor high heels.
Just a plain white T–shirt, extremely simple.
Only… her eyes seemed to be a bit brighter than before, and there was no sign of the gloom and depression that usually came with a broken heart.
If this was all an act, then Ethan Hayes had to admit that she was really good at pretending.
Good enough to successfully annoy him.
Summer Miller frowned. She knew him too well. That expression on his face was a sign that he was about to lose his temper.
“Huh,” the man sneered. However, your taste is really not that great. After being with me for so many years, you should have at least some standards. Don’t just settle for anyone. Otherwise, where would my face as your ex–boyfriend be?”
“Face?” Summer Miller suddenly found it a bit funny.
But there was a hint of sadness hidden in that smile.
Unfortunately, Ethan Hayes didn’t notice it
His mind was now filled with the image of Summer Miller smiling sweetly at another man. The more he thought about it, the angrier he
became.
He attributed this emotion to the territorial awareness of a male.
Since Summer Miller had once been his territory, even if he didn’t want her anymore, he wouldn’t allow those inferior men to come and mark
“I have something else to do. I’m leaving now.” Summer Miller didn’t want to help listen to him continue.
Leaving? Where can you go? Raina Camaron’s apartment? That’s the only place you can go to. But you’re quite tough this time. You took the check and your documents with you. Alright, you want to play games, is that it?
Summer Miller felt a pang in her heart.
She had long been used to his bad temper, or even his capricious and violent nature. But when she actually heard these words, she couldn’t help but feel a bit hurt.
Did he think she was just playing around?
Summer Miller slowed down her breathing and tried hard to adjust her emotions. Then she forced a smile. Firstly, Mr. Jack Camaron and I are just ordinary friends. It’s not as dirty as you think.”
“Also, we’ve already broken up. What you think is your own business.”
At that moment, the taxi she had called arrived.
Summer Miller opened the car door and got in.“Driver, please stan driving”
Ethan Hayes sneered again. Summer Miller was really getting more and more capable.
During their quarrel three months ago, she hadn’t threatened him with this trick.
This time, she even brought another man right in front of him. How dare she?
Suddenly, a pair of soft hands climbed onto his arm. Sarah Green clung to him a bit closer as if unconsciously. “Ethan Hayes, how could you just leave like that? Why didn’t you wait for me….
The strong fragrance of her perfume wafted over, and Ethan Hayes couldn’t help frowning. However, he didn’t push her away. Instead, he put his arm around the woman’s slender waist.“What? Do you want to come with me?
If she could find other men, couldn’t he find other women too?
In the car, Summer Miller watched the intimate couple in the rearview mirror and suddenly curved her lips in a self–deprecating smile.
So it wasn’t just Hailey Willow.

Six years. It seemed that all those years had been wasted,
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the taxi driving farther and farther away. Ethan Hayes‘ expression changed.
He coldly pulled Sarah Green’s hand away.

what was going on. She wanted to continue clinging to him. However, in the next second, she was ruthlessly pushed away, and the man walked away without looking back.
“Hey! Ethan Hayes‘ Ethan Hayes, stop right there!”
The woman angrily hit her lip.
Ethan Hayes got into his car. While starting the engine, he called Ana Hayes.
Brother? Weren’t you on a blind date?”
t
Ethan Hayes gritted his teeth.“Did you tell Summer Miller about my being at the West Coast Restaurant today?
“Can’t you be a bit smarter? Don’t tell everything to outsiders.”
“Mom forced me to go on a blind date, and you didn’t help cover it up. Instead, you leaked the news to her, making her deliberately find a man to annoy me. Can’t you use your head? What a stupid thing to do!”
Ana Hayes was startled by his suddenly raised voice.“No, brother, what are you talking about? When did I-‘
She was left speechless when the call was hung up.
I didn’t do anything, did IP
Before she could stay angry for too long, the butler came over with a gift list.“Miss, please check if these are enough.”
Ana Hayes took a quick look. They were all nice things. Then she carefully checked again and, after confirming that there was nothing wrong nodded with satisfaction.
“These gifts are for Professor Mia White. Be careful when preparing them. There mustn’t be any mistakes, understand?”
“Yes”
“Ms. Miller, this is the best rental property near Harvard University. Look at the lighting and the environment. So many people are waiting to rent it. If you don’t make a decision soon, you might even miss this one.”
The real estate agent enthusiastically introduced the place, Summer Miller looked around carefully.
The house wasn’t big, just two bedrooms and one living room. The decoration was from over ten years ago. It was an old and small place, and it was a traditional staircase building
But its advantages were also obvious.
Not only was it close to Harvard University, but it was also next to the library. The transportation was convenient too. Most importantly, the lighting and the environment were really good.
If she wanted to start anew, this place was definitely the most suitable.
“Okay, I rent it.”
She signed a one–year lease con
se contract in one go.
When Raina Camaron came back, she saw the open suitcase on
“You’re moving out?”

Summer Miller was packing her clothes“Yes, I’ve already found a place.”
Raina Camaron said “Oh” and guessed, “Ethan Hayes came to see you? Not bad. You’ve managed to hold out for a week this time. It’s about time to put those jerks in their place. Otherwise, they’ll really think they’re something special…”
Summer Miller’s movements paused, and their eyes
met.
“Rain, this time, Ethan Hayes and I have really broken up I won’t go back again.”
Raina Camaron was stunned for a moment. Suddenly, she started to believe it
For six years, she had watched Summer Miller gradually hide her true self for the sake of Ethan Hayes. The light in her had dimmed day by day,

and she had become a housewife revolving around a man.
No, a housewife at least had a proper status. She was the legitimate wife. What was Summer Miller?
Ethan Haves that soundrel was simply ruining her!
“Good for you! It should have been like this long ago! There are so many men in the world. We don’t need Erhan Hayes?”
“Yeah!” Summer Miller nodded.
“Ahem. Well, is it really for sure this time? You won’t go running back in a couple of days, will you?”
Summer Miller couldn’t help laughing
On her way back, she dropped by the market.
The house was old, and a lot of the wall paint had peeled off
The furniture also looked like antiques from a bygone era.
She planned to buy some eco–friendly paint first and repaint the house.
“Thank you, driver.”
The driver helped her take out several large buckets of paint from the trunk one by one.
Summer Miller looked up. Seventh floor.
She’d have to climb the stairs herself.
Since she was going to repaint the walls, naturally, she’d have to move the furniture around to readjust the layout.
She simply left the door open and started carrying the paint buckets upstairs one by one.
The buckets were quite heavy. Summer Miller panted and struggled, taking a break every two floors, and then continuing after resting. By the
time she had carried all the paint buckets upstairs, she was already out of breath.
After resting for a few minutes and washing her face in the bathroom, her strength slowly came back.
She picked up the painting tools and gestured at the wall for a while. Then-
She rolled up her sleeves and got to work!
