Chapter 20
That evening, as Yolanda stepped out of the car, a small, furry black creature dashed past her and quickly vanished from sight.
She stepped aside, furrowing her brows when she realized it was Lillian’s dog. She turned to Carol and said, “Make sure these clothes are pressed perfectly. I need them for my interview first thing in the morning?
“Yes, Ms. Wilson, Carol replied as she took the bags from the driver.
Yolanda had prepared extensively for her interview with the Lewis Group the next day–she spent the entire day at the salon, pampering herself from head to toe. After placing her bag lown, she walked into the dining room.
To keep her figure. Yolanda always ate small portions or sometimes skipped meals entirely. With two hours before dinner. she had already asked Carol to prepare something for her. After eating, she headed upstairs to her room.
On the second floor, Yetta was watering the flowers in the greenhouse, happily humming until Yolanda’s scream shattered
the calm.
Yolanda rushed out of her room, shouting, “Someone! Come quick! Get a doctor here, hurry!”
“What happened?” Yetta rushed outside, and as she saw Yolanda, she couldn’t help but exclaim, “Yolanda, are you okay? How did this happen?”
Yolanda’s face, neck, and arms were covered in tiny red spots, leaving no clear skin in sight. She had invested so much, money, time, and effort into her skincare routine, and now her appearance was terrifying.
She itched all over but didn’t dare scratch. Instead, she yelled at the servant, “Get my allergy medicine! Now!”
The usually graceful Yolanda had completely lost her composure at that moment. Tomorrow was her interview at the Lewis Group, and she couldn’t imagine facing them like this.
“We’re not sure this is an allergy. It’s been ages since you had one, so you shouldn’t take medicine without consulting a doctor, Yetta advised.
Just wait until the doctor arrives; don’t make this worse. Wait, what’s that on your shoulder?” Yetta suddenly noticed a smal tuft of black fur on Yolanda’s shoulder and reached out to pluck it off.
“Ms. Wilson, I found several dog hairs on your couch and bed–I’m not sure how they got there, Carol said hurriedly as she came out with the allergy medicine and a glass of water.
Yetta, looking disgusted, tossed the dog hair aside. “Why is there dog hair in your room? And you guys, how did you clean this place? Letting a dog in when you know Yolanda is allergic?”
Yolanda stared at the small clump on the floor, her anger rising. Go find that dog,” she said coldly.
Yetta added, “Everyone, let’s search for it. When you find it, just throw it as far as you can. It’s fine if you have to get rid of it for good.”
Lillian returned just in time for dinner, walking in through the back door. General usually spent his days either napping room or playing in the backyard, so Lillian headed straight there to find him.
Suddenly, she heard some rustling behind the flowerbed, and then a small black bundle of energy burst out, sprinting full speed toward her.
Noticing that his barks sounded different than usual, Lillian scooped up General, who was pressing his little head against her

like he needed comfort. After a few whimpers, he started barking
“What’s wrong? All played out? You seem so energetic, Lillian said, carrying him towards the villa
Inside, the hall was buzzing as a drama unfolded.
“The doctor said I need to take medicine for three days to get beer, but my interview with Lewis Group is tomorrow.” Yolanda looked up at Bradley, tears streaming down her face.
Her voice trembled as she continued, “Becoming the chief jewelry designer at Lewis Group has always been my dreamn. Eve worked so hard! Dad, you know how important tomorrow is to me, and now it’s all ruined.”
“I understand, honey, Bradley said, gently patting Yolanda’s head to comfort her.
“Yolanda, stop crying. It’s just making your face look worse. Herd wipe those tears,” Yetta said, pretending to care as she handed Yolanda a tissue.
“It’s just an interview; changing the time isn’t a big deal. If you’re worried about making a bad impression and how it might affect your future, just let me handle it, Bradley offered.
He was hinting that he might throw some money at the problem to make things right. Now that things had escalated, he just wanted to find a way to fix it.
Yolanda shook her head, tears continuing to fall. “Lewis Group is known for their strict rules, and they absolutely can’t stand backdoor deals.
“Being the daughter in the Wilson family already puts would spread? And if Samuel hears about it…”
s me in a tough spot. If I tried to bribe HR, who knows what rumors
Yetta exclaimed in her heart, “Wow! I knew this girl was ambitious, but I never imagined she’d aim for Samuel, the CEO of Lewis Group. She really has big dreams.
She silently rolled her eyes at Yolanda’s big ambitions. Instead of feeling anxious, she couldn’t help but scoff. To her, Yolanda’s dreams were just that–dreams
Does she think that, with Mr. Lewis‘ status, she–just a fake Wilson–can reach for him? She doesn’t know her place at all. Yetta scoffed to herself. If anyone could pull it off, it would be Mendy, the true heiress of the Wilson family!
Bradley felt bad for Yolanda, but he didn’t see it as that serious Sure, changing the interview time might seem rude, but I believe you’ll make up for it with your talents.”
He knew Yolanda liked Samuel, and that joining Lewis Group was her way of getting closer to him. Even though she was adopted, she was exceptional in his eyes, and he naturally wanted to support her.
But he also understood that catching Samuel’s attention wouldnt be easy, Even if she couldn’t win him over, becoming a valued member of Lewis Group would be an achievement.
“Sure thing, Yolanda. I believe you can do it. But about that dog who knows where it’s hiding? Ifiesticks around, you might not be able to stay here,” Yetta remarked.
Just then, they heard one barking. Turning around, they saw Lillian come in holding General
As soon as General entered, he began barking at everyone on the sofa, clearly agitated. He would sometimes turn back to bark at Lillian, as if complaining to her. The tone of his barks was noticeably different.
This dog is really something else. So many people couldn’t find him. They thought he was gone for good,” Yetta said.
She had planned to get rid of General while Lillian was away, expecting Lillian to throw a huge hit about it. But she never guessed General would hide so well, with so many people unable to track him down.

Yet, it didn’t matter how With Yolanda in such a tough situation Yetta doubted that Bradley would still let the dog stay in the
house.
“How could you bring that dog back here? Are you gonna kill Yolanda?” Yetta feigned concern. The frustration over not getting justice for Mindy had been eating at Yetta for days, fueling her desire to confront Lillian even more. Lillian looked at the group, completely ignoring Yolanda’s condition, and coldly asked, “What did you do to my dog?”
