Mark’s eyes lit up.“Good! Get her here now!” Only Natalie could stop those two lunatics. Otherwise, they might actually kill each other tonight. When Mark returned, the fight was still ongoing, though both Ethan and Peter were injured and bleeding. Their movements were slower, their faces and bodies covered in bruises and blood. Just as Ethan was about to smash a bottle over Peter’s head, Mark, whose heart leaped into his throat, threw himself in front of Peter.
“Ethan, calm down! Natalie’s coming! Do you want her to see this? You’ll scare her.”
Hearing that, Ethan stopped. A glimmer of hope appeared in his bloodshot eyes.
“Natalie?” he whispered.
“Yes, yes! She’s coming,” Mark urged, repeating my name to calm him down.
A bottle clattered to the floor. Just as Mark breathed a sigh of relief, Ethan stumbled backward, and Mark caught him. Jack helped Peter up, anxiously asking, “Mr. Caffrey, are you alright?”

I burst into the room. The dimly lit space was a chaotic mess – shattered glass, overturned furniture, the heavy stench of blood. Everyone looked at me.
I scanned the room, then ran towards Peter. Ethan’s eyes lit up upon seeing me. He pushed Mark away, stumbling towards me. His bloodied face forced a weak smile.“Natalie…”
But I ignored him, walking straight to Peter. His smile faltered. His bleeding fingers trembled as they briefly touched my hair.
I reached Peter, my face filled with concern.“Are you alright?”
