Chapter 30
CARINA
“Do you need help in cleaning up. Luna?” I asked, approaching her. Her head was down on the table, and she was muttering inaudible words under her breath.
I heard a chuckle behind me, so I turned around, finding Alpha Raven with an amused look on his face.
“Rina, you don’t need to do that,” he said, walking to where Luna Selene was and sitting next to her. She continued muttering under her breath while Alpha Raven looked at her with a small smile.
“You okay?” he softly asked.
Just then, Luna Selene lifted her head, her eyes tired and her speech slightly slurring. She might have been too happy with our wedding, causing her to drink a tad too much wine.
Well… fake wedding.
“I can’t believe my little boy is married now,” she cried, leaning against Alpha Raven’s shoulder. “Even if he’s not my real son.”
“Selene, he smiled. “Don’t say that. He is our son, even if it’s not by blood. And I’m happy, too. I’m even happier that he’s with Rina,” he said.
“Right?” Luna Selene exclaimed, her eyes bright. “I like her so much. Although she’s a bit too shy, and Falco is as stubborn as a mule. Still, I want their love to last for a long time.”
“Just like ours,” she muttered before closing her eyes.
Alpha Raven chuckled and shook his head, planting a small kiss on her temple as he stroked her cheek.
I watched them with a fond smile. It was so endearing to find them still in love despite all these years. They weren’t mates, too, but they were better than most mates.
It was also beautiful seeing their bond with Falco. Aside from that, it seemed like they were warming up to me really well,
too.
Alpha Raven then lifted his head and smiled at me.
“You don’t have to do anything, Rina,” he said. “Selene has prepared everything from top to bottom. Besides, it’s your night. You should enjoy it. Go ahead to your room with Falco.”
I smiled at him and bowed my head. “Thank you, Alpha.”
“No worries, future Luna,” he winked, making me feel shy. However, I also felt pride bloom in my heart.
A future Luna.
With that, I walked back to our room. However, the journey was eventful. As I walked, I could hear some of the whispers of the guests–especially those who were very supportive of Natalia even before she left.
“Does she know that if Natalia comes back, she’s going back to her old status as nothing?” Christy, one of Natalia’s best friends, said. She was a bridesmaid, too, carefully chosen by my mother. She would have been the maid of honor if Luna Selene hadn’t insisted it be Alex, as per my request.
“She’s gorgeous, though,” Jake said, eyeing me up and down, making me feel uncomfortable.
Rosie, also Natalia’s best friend and Jake’s fling slash girlfriend, slapped his chest. I honestly don’t know. From what I could

see, they have a pretty complicated relationship.
“Don’t say that. She’s just wearing a lot of makeup,” she said, side–eyeing me.
“Don’t we all wear makeup?” Jake asked, glancing at his friend group, who had turned silent.
I held in the urge to laugh out loud. Instead, I hastened my steps to go to Falco and I’s room.
He had come up first, saying his ‘social battery had died. It made me giggle, knowing he could endure countless meetings but got easily tired during events like this.
I opened the door and stopped at the doorway when I saw an unusual scene.
I narrowed my eyes, even rubbing them to confirm I wasn’t hallucinating.
“Are you just going to stand there all day?” he asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
I blushed and looked away. “Sorry,” I muttered. “I was just surprised.”
I heard some shuffling on the bed before he sat. “Why?” he asked. “Can’t I sleep on the bed anymore?”
The moment he sat up straight, it revealed he was shirtless. The room was dim, but I could still see him clearly due to the moonlight spilling through the curtains.
I quickly shook my head and looked away. “It’s not that,” I said.
The silence was awkward, so I cleared my throat and headed to the bathroom. “I’ll take a shower,” I quickly said before closing the door.
I let out a deep breath as soon as I was inside. It wasn’t the first time I had seen him shirtless. Not to brag, but I had appreciated his body plenty of times.
However, it just felt different now that we were married. Aside from that, he was on the bed–the bed I’d been sleeping on for the past week. Some thoughts came into my mind, but I quickly shook them away. Instead, I went under the water and enjoyed its warmth, washing the not–so–clean thoughts down the drain.
I went out of the bathroom with my robe on while drying my hair with a towel. I glanced at the bed and found Falco sitting up with a book in his hand. He had his reading glasses on, making him look even sexier. The lamp next to him was also lit, accentuating the lines on his abdomen.
I looked away and grabbed a pillow before heading to the couch.
I continued drying my hair, feeling a bit sleepy. After a while, I couldn’t get any more sleep. Although it wasn’t a hundred percent dry, I decided to lie down on the couch.
However, Falco’s next statement, instantly woke me up.
“Are you going to sleep there?” he asked.
I sat up once more and looked at him with confusion, tilting my head to the side.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
He clicked his tongue and placed the book down, looking me straight in the eyes.
“Come here. On the bed,” he said.
“Lay next to me, Rina.”
